Callingwood Cornfest 2011

Seriously, who eats corn on the cob 1 kernel at a time?!

Catching up on older event photos I never got around to making posts for. This one is the neighborhood Corn festival.

Lots of kids (not so great) to donatationware fresh corn on the cob (amazing) :D

The donations of course go to a better cause closer to home, the firefighter’s burn victims unit. In addition, the corn comes from a farm just outside the city, which this year is pretty impressive given that this summer here was all miserable and rainy — not exactly the greatest conditions for making amazing corn. I didn’t get any that time, but the Kettle Corn truck that comes to the farmer’s market in that same location every week is quite annoyingly addictive. Its not like that crap you get when you make microwave popcorn or buy bags of kettle corn from a store that’s been sitting there for who knows how long. Don’t believe me? well, if you’re dead set on your getting ripped off ways, then no amount of reading about me talking about how amazing fresh kettle popcorn is will make you change your deluded mind :p

If you listen with an open mind and think otherwise, then seek out some fresh kettle corn, you won’t be disappointed! But for now, enjoy the photos!
